Work

Welcome to the website for artist Richard Dunn.

Richard Dunn studied architecture in Sydney, Australia and painting at the Royal College of Art, London. He lived in Europe from 1966-1976 and New York 1984-1985 and is professor of Contemporary Visual Art and artist-in-residence at the University of Sydney. His approach to contemporary art is style-resistant and permeable to references from sources within and outside art. These include the relationship between art and architecture, music (for which he has a dedicated obsession), the visual and aural and their affect on space, and, of course, the world of ideas in history. His art activity includes painting, photography and site-specific installation. He has exhibited in United States, Asia and Europe, particularly in Germany.
